Hooch During TET 68 |
The man in front is John Puliatte as I recall. Next is Brent, I believe. Then Kelly from Quanna Texas, and Robert Taylor from
Dallas Texas. The building on the left is our hooch which took a hit from a 122 MM rocket during Tet. I was blown out of my bed from
the impact and landed face down on the floor. My bed was middle way down the side of this hooch showing. Maybe ten feet from the
impact. The sandbags and ammo boxes with sand in them saved my life and that of the other men. I pulled splinters out of my face
and hands after the attack and never objected to filling sand bags after that day... I have the nose cone from that rocket as a memento
of a close brush with death.-Louis Beam
